This post is a continuation of a comment I left on a very informative post by Nestor & Katerina Gasset.
Katerina mentions FOUR powerful ways to use Google Alerts. Read the original post by CLICKING HERE.
Even though I use Google Alerts, Katerina mentioned a few "new to me" uses for Google Alerts.
Here are a few I already had in place:
- Set up an alert for your own name- I've been pleasantly surprised to find my name mentioned on sites I don't normally visit. You just never know which Buyer or Seller may stumble upon that same site. Or, a more common site, like your Active Rain profile - how does Google portray your profile?
Set up an alert for your company
- My office, United Country VIP Realty, has been mentioned in articles or on websites without a push from me - it's a great "pick me up" when you see that happening!Set up an alert for your franchise- Our United Country CEO was a recent radio show guest, which I wrote a blog about HERE. How did I know of his upcoming appearance? Google Alerts, of course.
Set up an alert for the website of your strongest competitor - I found my strongest competitor showing up on BackPage.com, a free classified site. This was one site I had never used - but, you know you'll find my listings there now!
Update: Irene Gaffigan in her comment below gave me another use for GA: Set up an alert for your local school and/or school sports team. (This is my version of a hobby, Irene!)
I can only echo Katerina's words of wisdom:
"So have some fun with this and let us know how it works out for you! I love Google alerts. Make full use of this powerful FREE tool from Google."
I can't wait to hear, How do you use Google Alerts?
